A Few Things Vol. 2

So excited for today's post! It's been a hot minute since we did this series, but the first one was SO popular. I knew I wanted to bring it back. I just had to round up a few things first, and here we are! Very unedited/unfiltered reviews and chats about some things in my life that have been great and not as great. Enjoy!

Shyn Toothbrush // I recently replaced my quip toothbrush because I just didn't feel like it gave that good of a clean. The idea behind it is excellent, and the look + carrying case for it is brilliant, but I need something that actually works. Thankfully right around the time I wanted to switch, Shyn reached out for an event to introduce me to the product. I wasn't able to go but did see if I could try it out at home.

That was back in April, and I'm pleased to share that I love it! I've never had a sonic toothbrush before, so maybe this is normal, but I feel like it really does an excellent job at cleaning, plus I think it's a good looking toothbrush! They sent me the care collection and I'm a fan. I even really like the toothpaste (and I'm v picky about toothpaste!)

RX Nut Butter // I don't even know where you find this outside of a healthy snack stand inside LaGuardia, but I grabbed one to test out and LOVED it! I'm trying to be more mindful of my eating habits, and one thing was a healthy snack for the plane. I feel like these were the best I could do. It's basically peanut butter in a pouch, but I think it's healthy because there is no added sugar. I need to look into it more, but I'm a big fan!

Native Shoes // I know, I know, you've heard enough! BUT I LOVE THEM. I cannot stop saying enough good things about them. They're beautiful shoes (were gifted as part of a campaign with NIR), and I really didn't think I'd like them much (if at all!), but wow these shoes are it for me. They're affordable, lightweight, come from an ethically good company and are easy to clean. I love them, and I think you will too.

My Rings // I have some bad news to report... the three middle rings in the photo above were lost last week, and I doubt will ever be found again (by myself at least). I was dumb and had them tied to my shoe and went out for a walk, and I think they slipped off when I was listening to my AirPods + speedwalking. I take full blame for it, but it doesn't mean I don't just feel sick about it. They were apart of who I was and am, and losing them was indeed a devastating loss.

But I'm trying to stay on the positive and learn from it. Positive: I didn't lose my engagement ring (THAT would have been bad), and I can replace them. Learning I will also never put my rings on my shoelace again. I just hope that whoever found them loves them, but also understands that they are truly lost in this world and will never be theirs.

Augustinus Bader // After seeing everyone and their mother talk about how much of a miracle product this is I decided to give it a go. I bought the discovery duo (that I don't think is available anymore) to test it out. I've been on a rigorous skincare regimen since I started getting facials, but I will try a few new products here and there. The thing with new products is that I have to be careful about how I introduce them to my skin and basically treat it as a control experiment.

And that's what I did. I was praying I didn't break out during the trial and I haven't as of yet! I bought the duo back in March and have been using it on and off since. I ran out of both in May and repurchased the rich cream in the next size up.

YES, it is way expensive, but YES it lives up to the hype. I can see a noticeable change in my skin after using it for a few days, and I just couldn't believe it. The rich cream is very thick, but I really like to put it on before I go to be. I feel like I need all the extra moisture I can get while I'm sleeping, and this is just awesome. I like the regular cream, but it is much lighter and more of a daytime moisturizer (which I already have and love another).

Laneige Night Masks // I bought these during the Sephora sale after hearing just rave reviews about them. But I just kind of thought they were meh. I was really trying the eye mask for a week or two and just didn't like it. I only tried the sleeping mask once in fear it would break me out. I could give it another go, but I just don't find myself reaching for it.

Supergoop Setting Mist // I talked about this in my sunscreen post as a way to protect yourself from the sun after you apply makeup and I will admit that I used it a few times before without any real issue, but the last two times I used it it has turned really goopy and sticky and gross. Like sticky hairspray. I threw it away.

UCAN Energy Bars // My trainer recommended these as an excellent bar to have on the go (when I'm running low and about to hit my hangry patch) or before a workout. He said they are great for a boost of energy without putting anything to bad into your body. I tried out the peanut butter bars, and I really do like them! Definitely, do your own research before buying, but if you're in the market for something similar, these are great (IMO -- no energy/healthy bars are that good lol)!

Weezie Towels // Weezie sent me towels back in April, and I've been testing them out since. I finally have a full review: and I give them my stamp of approval! They are super soft and do hold up well after washes. I have an apparent love-hate relationship with white towels, but these I've found to wash and clean up very thoroughly. Plus, I'm obviously biased because I love their monogramming options! It's just SO cute.

Plus they're smart. They ask to avoid softner as it will decrease the softness of the towel! Crazy right? And they have a little hook on the sheet for "optimal drying" -- it's just a smart new company looking to change the way we buy and use towels. If you're in the market, definitely look into these. We got the starter pack and have been loving them.

Beautycounter // I've started trying some Beautycounter items and wanted to first talk about these two products! First: the brow gel. I heard so many rave reviews about it, and the first two or so times I used it I hated it!! Crazy, right? I've been so hooked on my benefit brow gel for so long I just wasn't used to anything new. But I gave it a few more tries, and now that I've gotten the "hang" of it, I really do like and enjoy it.

What I didn't like at first was how much color it gave off (what a problem to have lol). Again, I was used to my benefit that gave little color payoff that when I used this the same way I had very dark eyebrows!! So now I've learned to start on the more sparse parts of my brow and work my way out only going over the front parts at the end of the routine. It has helped! I also hated at first the gel-like stickiness of the product. It just felt like it never dried down, but again, after a few times, I found that it's meant to be that way, as to keep your brows in place lol. I never felt that with benefit because it would just wear off! The struggle.

So now I really like it a lot! The second product is the cleansing balm. I've been very into double cleansing as of late when I wear makeup and before I was using the It Cosmetics cleansing balm and it was fine. I don't think I love cleansing blams overall, but they both are good and would recommend. I wish I had something a little more watery to take off my mascara, but this balm does do the job!

Sakra Life // I don't have a photo for this one, but I tried out Sakra life for the first time a few weeks ago just to see what all the hype was about. I was convinced I wasn't going to like it, but TBH it turned out to be pretty good! Sure, there was a lot of salad which I didn't love, but for the most part, it was worth the hype. Now was it worth the cost? That's TBD. Maybe on special occasions but definitely not for every day, that is EXPENSIVE!
