Faux Leather Legging Guide

Faux Leather Legging Guide

This post is defintely one I wish I had read when I was shopping for faux leather leggings! There are a few different styles included in the Nordstrom Sale (which opens to the public on Wednesday!!) and I wanted to review and compare them for you. They each have pros and cons.

BP Faux Leather Leggings

Original price: $49 // Sale Price: $28.90

Sizing: They run TTS. I'm wearing a small because I ordered the wrong size and they are too small. I need a medium.

Overall Thoughts: These leggings are great, but I had a real issue since I accidentally ordered the wrong size. They were tight and hard to put on. User error!! But overall they were great and *SUPER* warm. They are so warm you could wear them in the winter. The only issue I had is that they kind of smelled like burnt plastic. I'm unsure if they will air out over time, but know that they're not the highest quality leggings.

Nordstrom Faux Leather Leggings

Original price: $59 // Sale Price: $28.90

Sizing: They run TTS but are baggy in the crotch!

Overall Thoughts: These were my favorite of the true lather leggings I tried, with a BIG caveat. They were comfortable, warm yet breathable, fit nicely, and had a super comfortable mesh upper waistband. But they are super baggy in the crotch and that's a big pet peeve of mine. I don't need leggings to be baggy in any way shape or form. So I can't truly recommend them. If that doesn't bother you, then I would definitely suggest getting them.

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

Original price: $98 // Sale Price: $64

Sizing: They run TTS. I wear a size M.

Overall Thoughts: I love these leggings. They are the *most* high waisted, are super comfortable, moveable, and thin but not too thin. They're a holy grail item of mine and something that I've owned for years. They're that good. But they aren't true "faux leather" like the rest. These are more fancy leggings than pants and just have more of a sheen to them.

I still recommend and swear by them, but I don't believe that they fall into the same shopping category as the faux leather leggings above. It's like apples and oranges!! I will say that these are better to wear now around the house and running errands, while the others are more suitable to wear later when the world is back to normal lol.

Commando Perfect Control Faux Leather Leggings

Original price: $98 (not currently part of the sale)

Sizing: They run TTS. I wear a size M.

Overall Thoughts: To be totally honest I thought these were the other leggings in the sale. It turns out there is a Halogen brand I have not reviewed. Sorry! I still wanted to include this because we're already here. So these are not in the sale but are a great combination pant of the Spanx and the BP/Nordstrom pairs. They are thin, but will keep you warm. They are high waisted and have tummy tucking control, and have the faux leather look without being too tight.

The only real issue I have with these (and I've owned them for two years) is the weird lining they have on the waistband. It can roll up sometimes and create little bulky lines. You can kind of see them below. Other than that and the price, I do really recommend these!
