Hill House Nap Dress Review

A month or two ago, I think I shared that I don't own a nap dress. I even had some of my closest friends being like, "Wtf Krista????" So I caved and bought two. Here's my review.

First things first, I'm 5'6" and wear a M in all things that run TTS. I did as Hill House suggested and sized down in the Ellie style and am wearing a Small. I think it fits great, but the dress is super forgiving all around, so you're able to size up or down based on your preferences.

I think why I initially held off on my purchase of this dress was the sleeves. Traditionally, sleeves that flutter off or any kind of half/cap sleeve make my arms look bigger (at least to me). I'm not really a fan of them overall, but these look really nice.

I was also a little worried about the whole bra situation because I do have a larger chest. While I can go braless in this dress, I get really sensitive and prefer to wear a bra when possible. Here, I am wearing a regular everyday bra and you can't even see it! I think it's safe to say you can wear a regular bra, a strapless bra, or go no bra and be just fine. All about personal preference really!

Some of the styles and colors are opaque, but there is the benefit of having these dresses be so flowy. More room away from your body, means the less things will show through. Would I wear this dress with hot pink undergarments? No. I'm wearing my nude that matches my skin best and even up close and under light, you can't tell. I would assume this and the full white version are the most see-through, and you'd be fine with just about anything else.

Now the question of the hour: is it worth it

I'm not going to lie, I kind of hate this question because it's all super relative. Like the Dyson Airwrap: it's expensive as shit, but I have used it just about every day for the past three and a half years so I would say, for me, it's been worth the price. But do you need a $500 hair styler? No. Of course not.

Same thing with this dress. It's super comfortable, really cute, and easy to wear. If you think you'll get a lot of use out of it, that it's something within your budget, and something that you want because you like it (and not because you're told to like it), then yes I think it's "worth it." I have only worn the dress twice, but I plan on buying more from their drops in the future! I think it will be an awesome dress for summer, travel, and in the future, pregnancy!
