Bow Napkin Fold

Bow Napkin Fold

I won't be heading home for Christmas to see my family which I am really sad about, but know deep down it's what's best. So to try and make light of a sad situation, Andrew and I decided to host his parents for a Christmas Eve dinner.

And before anyone gets upset, we've been seeing his parents every week since June so we're what you call a family "pod." Neither of us sees anyone else so it works well for our situation. We're forever grateful for them too. Don't know how we would have survived without them this year.

To cheer up the season, and to bring a little bit of my family to Christmas, we'll be hosting and serving recipes from my family cookbook! I'm really excited about it and today we start with the cookies! Now that we have space, I'm really looking forward to my first real hosting experience and wanted to share a little bit of our tablescape.

It's all from things we already have (thankfully!) -- the china, glass, and utensils are all from our wedding and registry. The napkins I had from a collaboration years ago and the napkin rings were old Kate Spade that I found at TJ Maxx a few years back as well.

To bring some fun and festive cheer to the table, I wanted to create a bow napkin that I've seen so many friends do. I personally love it and it's SO easy to do. I wanted to share it with you guys if you're looking to do the same this season. It's the little things, I've found, that make the best finishing touches!

This is also how I tie/create bows for the holidays (I have a tutorial on my Christmas decor highlight on Instagram if you want to see it IRL). But wanted to also commit it to the blog so you can come back to it whenever you please. Not the *prettiest* photos on our table mats but it's very real lol

  1. Please note, your knife edge needs to be facing the plate - you have it in the wrong direction.

    2. Yes I’m aware! This was just thrown together for the photo. Appreciate the tip!

  2. Merry belated Christmas! I hope you had a good one. We also just celebrated as a family of three but Zoom with family during the day. It's definitely not the same as face to face but like you said, it's what best. I love how easy these bow napkins are. Such a fun craft and my son loved doing it with me. Thanks for sharing it!
