One blink and September is gone like that. How is it October? I'm still in late March lol. This month was a fun one for me, and just like August, I wanted to show you photos from my camera roll that captured my September. Most of these never made it online. Here's to hoping this month is better than the last!
September at a Glance
Starting off with some Penny Linn Designs BTS! The first picture was my packaging and logo, which I have just come to adore. Sometimes I worry how much is too much, but I truly do love to see those blue flowers everywhere.
Andrew can't do much to help when it comes to painting, but has been SO helpful in the manual labor part of the business: all the cutting and taping of the canvas. Very thankful for him!
As we prepare for restock, I'll also be dropping some new canvases. The above is a collaboration with Anne Fisher, a fellow needlepoint designer! We will be remaking the Bebe sunglasses into a tortoiseshell print with her fabulous Goyard print behind the sunglasses. It took me weeks to figure out the best way to get tortoiseshell to come to life, and after much trial and error, I was able to figure it out. The top is the final design, and the bottom was the runner up!
Kind of a weird picture, but I was documenting how good my skin looked after a new method of applying my makeup! I constantly love to try new things with my routine and love how this turned out.
After 2+ years, I upgraded my phone case to something that doesn't look so ugly lol.
I've never been able to enjoy pretty phone cases because I have a bad habit of breaking all of my iPhones. So I stick with my tried and true Tech21 case. I was able to find a "prettier" (but not as heavy duty) blue case which I've been loving. I paired it with a custom popsocket and I was good to go. It's almost as exciting as getting a new phone.
Finally getting into some fall items and absolutely adore this look I threw together with some new items. Like this quilted jacket, this chunky turtleneck, and these gold earrings.
While I wish I was dressing up more, this is pretty much all I've been wearing: elevated sweats. (Sweater can be found here)
More on the random side, but this mascara is some of the best mascara I've ever tried. And it's only $5. This lipstick is my go-to neutral pink.
(non-elevated) Sweats for painting days. I bought more colors in this tank top. I'm that obsessed. Just $25!
This was the day we found out we didn't get the house. I was pretty sad about it, ngl.
I went back to workouts this month as the gym reopened.
It's definitely weird being back with the fear of COVID, but the gym has been extra safe and honestly, it's been so great to be back with my trainer. She's the best. My tank and leggings are both amazon (under $30)
More elevated sweats lol. I've been LIVING in these Outdoor Voices dresses. I wear them almost exclusively any time we leave the house. I love it because you can put this on and nothing else, and you instantly look a little more dressed up. Not to mention they are crazy comfortable to wear.
Packing for our anniversary trip to Nantucket. I used Rent the Runway to try out some new things. Both tops are from there. I still have my unlimited membership! While it's a little neglected, I've been ordering some stuff here and there when I remember. It's been a nice little treat. You can use code RTRKRISTA (I think) to get you a month free.
Some snaps from Nantucket:
I loved this old Sports Illustrated magazine from Nantucket. I was so enamored with it, I felt that I needed one for myself! I found one on eBay, and it arrived last week. The next was me needlepointing at the beach: something I wish I had done all summer long. And finally, us celebrating our one year anniversary at Keepers.
Also in Nantucket, as an anniversary/sorry you lost the house/Nantucket memento gift to myself, I found this amazing basket charm in a little jewelry shop and decided to add it to my charm bracelet.
The meal I think about all summer long: Provision's sandwich, Cape Cod chips, and a Nantucket Nectar.
Penny Linn Designs launch day!
Ashby came over and helped me pack orders for three days straight. Thankful for her and her help (especially running to drop off packages!).
There was also plenty of girl time too on our breaks!
It's not a month on my phone without some snaps of Dixie and our snuggles!
I have about 4 or 5 grey hairs that are SO SHINY and metallic silver. I secretly really love them. This one is my longest and has been growing since high school. My parents call him George lol and he has gotten so long! He was peeking out one day and I had to show my mom. Andrew has since started naming all of my grey hairs after the Beatle members.
Again... dressed up sweats. Trying to channel my inner TikTok, gen-z with a cool girl/school girl look. I actually didn't hate it, but I would 100% wear this on my own without the collar.
My favorite dynamic duo. If you buy anything this month, buy this topcoat. It's the best $10 you'll spend on your nails.
Andrew and I snuck away to visit my sister and family for my niece's 5th birthday.
We flew Delta, and going out from LGA was not a problem at all. Everyone followed the rules and was respectful. But coming back, omg. It was such a horrible experience that we probably won't ever fly again until this is all over. It's wild to me that there are states that aren't taking this as seriously.
My favorite people!! I was trying to solve a wooden puzzle (you just know it's hard) with two kids: one trying to help place them and the other telling me where to put them as she has already memorized the game.
More painting but I've had a new visitor at the table. Dixie is not a lap cat at all. She's more of a snuggle next to you when you're laying down kind of girl, but one day when I was painting she kept crying so I decided to pick her up and she just stayed on my lap. I loved it. She did it another time after that and it made me super happy, hoping she does it more!
