NYFW Style

Happy Thursday! In full honesty I woke up and was like, "Heck yea today is Friday!" but realized it wasn't. Oh well. Thursday works for me too!

I'd like to say this is my one and only try at ~fashion week~ this year but I avoid that scene altogether so that won't work. I've been to many fashion weeks before, but I found they just weren't for me -- totally a personal preference! But every once and a while I'm inspired to break out of my little comfort-zone bubble and try something new. Case in point: this outfit.

See, on their own both these pieces represent who I am and what my style is, but together I feel like they tell a different story. It's a mix of seasons (sweater / flowy skirt) a mix of patterns (cable knit / stripes) and a mix of occasion (casual / formal). But I really loved how -- even though they were opposites -- they worked for me.

And that's the beauty of fashion and style. It's all about what makes you look and feel good. Some may not like this outfit and that's okay because I do. You have to be your own person, define your own style, and wear what makes you YOU. So that's what I'm doing today!
