Holidays in New York City

Free People Bell Sweater, Winter Outfits, Holiday Looks

It's here! It's here! It's here! The election is over, it's mid November and the temps are starting to drop. It can only mean one thing: Christmas in the city is HERE! Say goodbye to fall and hello to holiday because we are never looking back.

Christmas in the city is seriously the BEST time of year. Everywhere you look there are amazing decorations, stunning trees and holiday cheer (which in New York is a big deal). Shops go all-out, hotels are the best stops and there are about 50 ice skating rinks. Really, there are only about four that I know of, but that's still a lot!

If you've been hanging around for long enough you know last year I did 12 days of Christmas and I showed you around some of my favorite spots in the city. I want to do it again this year but I want to change it up to keep it new and fresh. There will of course be the staples but maybe I'll find some new places for you guys. Any suggestions??

And with the holiday comes #allthered. My wardrobe has officially been taken over my everything red, plaid and green. My gingham has been put on the back burner for a couple of months but don't you worry, it'll be back sooner than you know.

I knew when I saw this parka I had to have it for the holidays. I love the windowpane look and knew the fur would be a good idea to shield myself from the wind (which it did quite well). J. Crew's parkas are always the very best. I don't know how I lived without them for so long.

I'm also dying over this sweater. I wore it in Vermont and to work a few times since, but it is just so darn soft. It's also super flattering -- layered or alone. On the weekends I'll wear the sweater alone with a cute bralet underneath, but for work I knew it was a bit too low-cut so I layered a white blouse under it and loved it.

I think white blouses can be worn with anything at any time so I shouldn't have been that surprised. But I'm really digging the layered look here! I mean, I did put the outfit together, so of course I should love it. Still, I think it's one of my favorite looks here on the blog. What do you think?

P.S. these are the new booties I talked about on Friday!
