While fall may look a little different this year, it's still nice to have some core pieces in your wardrobe that will help you create a
ton of looks for the cooler weather. I wanted to round up 10 of my most worn fall items over the years for you guys to shop and enjoy!
I wont lie to you, narrowing this down to 10 was hard!! But I think I want to do a larger post for a capsule wardrobe for fall. There are so many great outfit options to create with just a few more pieces included! But until then, enjoy my top (top) 10 items:
10 Preppy Fall Must Haves
Dudley is about all I wear in the fall and winter. They live up to the hype of amazing fleeces that are so soft and keep you so warm. I'm almost embarrassed to admit how many I have, but seriously ... they are perfect.
Everyone needs a classic white button-up for fall! Think layers. I personally love my Ralph Lauren Oxford but I wanted to include this one as it was a bit more versatile and girly with the ruffle collar and sleeves. This would be super cute on its own but also under a cable knit sweater!
I love a good cashmere sweater, don't get me wrong, but if we're talking about one sweater you need for fall, it's a great chunky oversized knit. I love this one from Tuckernuck and it comes in a few different colors. Layer this with a pair of skinny jeans and you're good to go!
Ah, what is fall without some Barbour? I love and recommend the Beadnell style jacket in the traditional waxed style or in the quilted version! Both are great and run TTS (I wear a size 6). The quilted is slightly warmer than the waxed but it should be known that Barbour jackets aren't bought for winter warmth.
I picked these up during the sale and I am OBSESSED with them. They are some of the best high-waist skinny jeans out there and I'm looking for anyone to prove me wrong!!
Another classic fall staple is the ever-popular quilted vest. Again, great for layering and great on its own, this piece will be sure to stand the test of time in your closet! I still have vests from college!!
I love a good scarf/wrap combo so you get the best of both worlds. This you can snuggle up to around your shoulders for a quick light layer or just wear as a traditional regular scarf. Both ways are perfect for fall and winter.
I'm convinced everyone needs a camel coat. It's the most versatile way to dress for fall and it goes with everything. I have a few different options but this style is new for this year and I love the big buttons! Totally can dress up or down without worry.
I think of tall boots in two ways. 1: being very stylish, yes. But 2: also providing a layer of warmth. Even OTK boots can be considered as warm as pants (which, isn't saying much but you get it!). These are great to style with skinny jeans or skirts/dresses!
My tried and true fall favorite. I've had these since college and plan on having them around for the rest of my life lol. Truly the best fall and rainy weather boots around. Not to mention, LL Bean is the BEST and is truly made with the best quality and purpose behind their brand.
