How I Organize My Earrings (Updated)

I know it wasn't that long ago I shared what I thought was the best new way to organize my earrings... well I might have spoken too soon!!

Well well well... we're back! If you remember back in February of this year, I shared the best new way I was organizing my earrings. And while it was awesome for about a month or two, I found myself reverting back to my old ways and just shoving them all into a large box to riffle through when I needed something to wear. It wasn't great.

So let's talk about why it didn't work...

1. Not great for statement earrings -- ya girl has a lot of statement earrings, and with that, I need something that can hold them all. With the acrylic organizer, I found they were hanging over each other, and we're too bulky to use the space efficiently. For studs? It would be perfect -- they would be easily seen and stored, but for my larger earrings, I found that it was just too difficult to use. But anything bigger to accommodate would only defeat the purpose!

2. Ease of use -- And speaking of ease of use, I found it so annoying to pull the backs off to try on an earring and then put it back when I'm not using it. I just don't have time for that nonsense lol. I'm continually packing earrings, trying them on, testing them out for a variety of reasons and I just found that after like two weeks all my earrings just ended back, unorganized, in a box. So I needed something new.

3. Was very bulky -- In terms of other earring organizers, my old one was pretty non-invasive. And I looked at it as a decorative item when not in use (it was pretty to look at all the colors!). But because of the size of most of my earrings, it didn't actually fold up very well so (again) it didn't really make sense for me to use!

And now (new) the solution...

With all of that, I decided like six months later that I needed a new system. My earrings were so disorganized, all over the place and my nicer earrings were lost in the rough too. It wasn't great. So I turned to my favorite place to shop, Amazon, and found these two options!

I knew for my nicer earrings I wanted to put them in a box so they'd be more protected. Plus with this clear top, I was able to see them all at a glance. I also made sure that the box I ended up with had a lot of spaces (check), was overall non-invasive (check), and had open holes, so I didn't have to take the backs on and off when it came time (check and check!). I'm able to more so pull these down through the slats in the base, and it has worked out really well for me!

Turns out I didn't have enough "nice" earrings to fill the box, so I also decided to let in my favorites. These are the creme de la creme of my earring choices -- ranging from statement to stud with some other top favorites in there as well!

Then comes the rest of my earrings (yes, I understand I have a lot) it's just my thing right now, you know? For this, I knew I needed something with easy access, no stud piercings, non-bulky, AND large enough for my statement earrings. Lololol it was hard but also kind of easy. I didn't know what I wanted, and when I couldn't find anything, I decided to give this hanging organizer a shot, and it worked! Sometimes the most straightforward answer is the correct one.

And honestly? It's great. I've been using it for about a month now to test it out, and I'm staying organized, it's really easy to see what you have and grab from, AND it tucks away so nicely on a clothing rack. Really, I couldn't ask for a better piece! Plus I still have room to spare, and it's only $12. I'd buy it 100 times again if I needed to!
