What To Wear To Work In The Winter

*she writes as it's currently snowing outside* Welcome to workday Wednesday or the Wednesday work post. Whatever you want to call it, here it is! Work week was such a hit that I decided to make it a reoccurring miniseries. Every Wednesday you can pop over and see a business-inspired look!

When I asked you guys what content you want to see more of, a TON asked for tips on how to stay warm in the winter with work clothes. To be transparent, I'm on team "look-cute-over-stay-warm" because I'm all about taking cabs when it's too cold out. Thankfully, it's not super cold in my office either so wearing normal clothes works for me.

BUT there are times (like today) where you really need to layer up and still want to look cute for work. This look is for those moments. The trick (always) is to layer. Layer your tops but also layer your bottoms!

Your bottoms should look like:
Wool Socks -- Warm Tights -- Skirt -- Over-the-knee boots

That way you are fully protected on the bottom. I feel like your legs are always the first thing to get cold because they are the last thing you protect.

I'll admit that layering this way is a lot but it truly works! At times it can be frumpy, but for that you have to pick the pieces that work together and work for your body. For me, a form-fitting skirt worked best with my tight boots. If you have too many loose items you seem to get lost in the outfit.

When I found this skirt I knew it would be perfect. It's also on a good sale right now so snag it while you can! This skirt is great because it will serve as an awesome transition piece in your wardrobe. You can layer it in the winter and wear it with flats in the summer. A skirt like this will never go out of style! It also comes in two other colors but I loved this one since it's a neutral and would be easy to pair with a variety of things.

For more affordable over-the-knee boots, I love THIS / THIS / THIS or THIS as alternative options. All of these are under $100 and look identical to my pair!

And if you get too warm during the day just make sure your layers match! You can easily take off the cashmere sweater and wear the oxford, or take off the tights and no one will know a difference.

I hope this helps in your winter wear-to-work wardrobe. If you have other great ideas on how to stay warm but business appropriate, please let me know below!
