Sailing on the Hudson

Sailing on the Hudson, NYC River Cruises, Maison Jules Gingham Dress

I feel like some might forget that New York City (Manhattan) is really just a large island. With so much going on *inside* the city, we forget to take time during the summer and explore it from afar. Which, is truly the best way to fall in love with the city.

A couple of months ago I went to this charity event with Lauren and with the tickets she bought, she was given 10 raffle stubs to enter various prizes with. Since she's such a nice friend, she gave me one and I threw it into this sailing sunset cruise around the city. A couple of weeks later, I got a phone call saying I won. Go figure.

Fast forward a busy month or two, Andrew and I finally decided to cash in our free tickets and take the cruise! We ended up on the Classic Harbor Line's Schooner America 2.0 sailboat for a sunset cruise that left around 7pm.

The boat was awesome. I love sailboats for their character and beauty and this one did not disappoint. On the 2 hour sail up and down the hudson river, we were given complimentary drinks, saw sites of the west side, One World Trade and the Statue of Liberty.

Given the weather we've had recently, we picked a perfect night to set sail. It was cool, not at all humid and party cloudy (which made for a let down of a sunset but it was still fun). I definitely want to go back again! The weather we've been having this week has been ah-mazing!!
