Vineyard Vines Holiday 2020

Vineyard Vines Holiday 2020

I'm a little late, but our annual Vineyard Vines shoot is finally here! Life has been a little crazy the past few weeks with the move but I wasn't about to let this tradition die. Not this year!

Even though we moved out of the city and these photos were a little harder to coordinate, I was adamant about making sure we took them. I touched on this last year, but it's fun to look back on these photos and see the big milestones we've hit. We started taking them on our one year anniversary, and since then we've celebrated moving in together, getting engaged, getting married and now buying a house!

I wonder what next year's will look like. Will we have a pup? Will two years from now have a baby? It's going to be fun to have these every year to look back on as a marker for each year of our life together. And even with the total madness of this year, not even the virus could stop us from getting these photos. It's one of the few traditions we have as a couple. After seven years, I just couldn't say no. Especially after this hellish year we've had.

Actually, in very 2020 fashion we woke up early, Andrew took the day off, we hired a photographer, and drove an hour into the city to find out the Palace Hotel tree was closed to the public.

WHAT? It took so much for us to get down there (and find a place to park) that we were not about to turn around and go back home. We begged and begged the hotel staff and they said no. The terrace area was closed for a private event? But they were only setting up when we got there, and we kind of snuck these in while the crew "looked the other way."

That explains the red carpet, the shots outside the gate, and the relatively few photos in this post. What usually takes us 30-45 minutes we crammed into five. Literally. We ran in, shot super fast, and would run back out. I was shaking we were going so fast. But we got the shots and now we'll always look back to these photos as a way to sum up the year.

Oh, and the elephant in the room? Andrew has a mustache now! He started growing back his beard in April and then in July he decided to do a mustache. I actually like it and so it stuck around! We joke that it's now forever commemorated with these photos. The question is: will he keep it for his new CT driver's license?? Only time will tell...
