Southern Girl in the City

Southern Style in NYC
Dress: Lissa Mar (old similar here) c/o | Necklace: Capwell gifted | Boots: Justin's Bay Apache c/o

As some of you may know, I grew up and went to school in the South. Southern style has always been a major influence in my life. I think it was Ralph Lauren's western-wear idea that made me fall in love with white and teal. Something about it just reminded me of the South and southern belle attire. What's more southern belle than pairing your boots with a great white lace dress?

I have to admit I got my first real pair of cowboy boots when I was in college. I already had a cheap pair for tailgates and going out (can't tell you how thankful I am for those) but I wanted some authentic cowboy boots. I thrifted my first two pairs from a local store in town and I still love them to this day. I remember for graduation I wanted to buy a pair of dark brown Justin's to complete my collection. But of course, moving to the city put those dreams on hold. People don't wear boots here all that much but I have managed to take them out for a night on the town a couple times since I've lived here.
